This beautiful contemporary villa is located in the village of Saint Florent, a small and traditional harbour on the North-West coast of Corsica. Saint Florent is half an hour away from Bastia International Airport. The house is two miles away from the village, along the bay of Saint Florent. Built by the sea on a five acre property, it is accessible by a dirt road (2.2 km) and only 15 minutes drive from Saint Florent (one mile and five minutes by boat crossing the bay from the shore in front of the house).
The exposure is North-East with one of the most splendid views of the Mediterranean Sea: 150 feet above the sea, the garden goes down to the shore 500 feet away with small beaches and splendid water to swim in from April to November. The bay, with boats a mile away coming in and out of the harbour, as well as the Cap Corse with mountains 5,000 feet high can be seen from each room and the various terraces.
West of Saint Florent the house is not totally isolated since it is part of a domain with six other villas spread on a small bay of a hundred acres. The closest neighbour is 200 metres down and is never heard even during the quietest morning. Villas share the same security guard.
A few hundred metres from the villa starts one of the most untouched areas of Corsica: the "Désert des Agriattes" with no village or summer resort for thirty miles. On the shores of the Agriattes you will find the nicest Corsican beaches to which you can walk to (no road) or reach by boat.
For those who like to hike, mountains, lakes, and one of the stiffest trails in France (GR20) are one hour away by car.
Villa Jasmin was built in 1998 by one of the most famous contemporary French architects Jean-Michel Wilmotte.
Indoors: The villa is mostly made of stone and is split into 2 sections. A 100 feet long roof covers the two sections of the house. In between, under the roof, the villa features a large patio with an astonishing view. The patio is the summer living room of the villa. The shadow of the roof protects guests from the sun. A breeze going through gives a sensation of freshness, definitely a good place to be!
Main House:
First Floor: Kitchen and living room, about 100m² (1,000 square feet). Living room with two couches, a fireplace, large table. Sea view from three sides. Kitchen with two ovens, two dishwashers, one induction stove, one microwave oven, a large fridge, and an ice cube machine. Blue raw stone flooring.
Second Floor: Two large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a small bedroom for a baby or a young child. Pine tree parquet flooring.
Bedroom 1: Large bed (king size), can be transformed into twin beds, desk, bookshelf, large wardrobe. Ensuite bathroom with a bath, a shower, two sinks, and separated toilets.
Bedroom 2: King-size bed, 2 bedside tables. Bathroom beneath with a sink, bath, and toilets.
Basement: Storing room, laundry with 2 washing machines, one dryer, wine cellar, food storage room, and a room for cleansing products and a freezer.
Second House:
Ground Floor:
- Bedroom 4: Large bed (160cm), small adjoining bathroom with shower and sink. Access from the patio corridor or a small terrace.
- Bedroom 5: Identical with no seaside terrace. Bathroom has a bathtub.
First Floor / Patio:
- Bedroom 3: Four-poster king-size bed in dark wood. Small bathroom with a sink, a shower, and toilets. Access to a terrace with a gorgeous view.
Garden Level:
- Bedroom 6: Smaller, queen-size bed, with ensuite bathroom and an independent entrance.
Outdoors:
- The Patio: Separates the two houses, under the same roof, 80 square metres furnished with a large L-shaped couch, armchairs, and a table.
- West Side Terrace: Dining table for 14 people.
- Swimming Pool: 15m x 3m infinity pool with heating option and views of Saint Florent bay.
Equipment: Rowing boat, small sailing boats. Motorboat available under specific conditions.
Service and House Staff:
- 2 persons work daily at the house for 4 hours. One handles house cleaning, and the other cooks.
- Extra hours can be arranged locally on request.
- The cook prepares 2 meals per day (breakfast and lunch, or breakfast and dinner, or lunch and dinner).
